Netizens Praise 42-Year-Old Chicharon Vendor After Graduating College
CEBU CITY – A 42-year-old chicharon vendor in Cebu City finally graduates from college after years of hard work.
The chicharon vendor identified as Jesus Fuentes goes viral online after he completed his college education. His store immediately spread like a wildfire online and served as an inspiration to some netizens.
Fuentes lives a poor yet happy life with his wife and children. The latter is full of hope and inspiration despite their financial situation. He was just living in a simple shanty together with his family.
The hardworking man narrated that it took him too long to finish his elementary and secondary education because of poverty. However, he decided to return to college to get a stable job in the future.
The latter is hoping to get a good job opportunity to provide for the financial necessities of his family and to take them out of the poverty line. The vendor also expressed his gratitude towards his family, relatives, classmates, professors, and customers who supported him.
The chicharon vendor graduated with a Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) in Talisay City College.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our God for always being there for me every time when I needed him in all my ups and downs,” Fuentes said.
