Former Pres. Duterte Releases Statement on Death of Japan Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe
DUTERTE – Former Philippine Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte mourns the death of his “dear friend”, Japan former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The whole world was shocked by the unexpected death of Japan former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who was shot while he was giving a speech in Nara ahead of the elections. During the incident, the people who were there claimed that they heard two loud sounds before the 67-year-old Japanese former Prime Minister fell to the ground.
Abe was shot from the back. He was given an immediate medical response and was rushed to the hospital. The suspect of the incident who used a homemade weapon was arrested.
Sadly, shortly after the former Prime Minister was rushed to the hospital, reports confirmed that he has passed away. Several countries and international organizations were quick to express their condolences and sympathies to the family and fellowmen of the former Prime Minister of Japan.
During his term as Japan’s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe has visited the Philippines several times. He was even regarded by then-President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as his “dear friend”. The former Philippine President mourns the death of the Japanese former Prime Minister.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, in a statement, Pres. Duterte expressed his condolences to former Prime Minister Abe’s wife, Madame Akie, and his family over his death. He also expressed oneness with the Japanese people in condemning the act that led to the demise of the former Prime Minister.
The former Philippine President stressed that he will always cherish the times and he and Abe spent together as he hopes that everyone will continue to draw inspiration from the former Prime Minister’s dedication to his duty.
Based on the report, former Pres. Duterte recalled that Japan former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was the first foreign leader to have visited the Philippines when he assumed office. He’s also the only national leader who came to his home in Davao City.
