Cristy Fermin reacted to recent controversy involving Ella Cruz
To recall, Ella received bashing for her answer when asked about what she learned in making the movie Maid in Malacañang, written and directed by Darryl Yap.
Ella said that history is like gossip and things can be different depending on people’s perspective. This was criticized by her fellow celebrities and known historians.
Actresses Agot Isidro and Pokwang, as well as talent manager Ogie Diaz, who are known as supporters of former Vice President Leni Robredo, called the attention of Ella and gave her advice regarding this matter.
However, for Cristy Fermin, there was nothing wrong in what Ella Cruz said, based on the article in Bandera. “Alam mo, Romel, wala akong nakikitang masama dito. Ginagamit ko nga ‘yan e pagka New Year’s resolution. ‘Ano ang New Year’s resolution mo?’ ‘Ay naku, it’s like history, it repeats itself,” Cristy said in her showbiz show with Romel Chika.
The veteran showbiz writer also said that Ella is right when she said that there are things omitted and added in history and it is depending on the interpretation whether there’s bias or none.
“Opo, Nay. At saka ang tao naman ang nagbigay ng meaning. Hindi nila naunawaan ‘yung post na ‘history is like tsismis.’ Hindi naman ‘history is tsismis,’ iba naman ‘yon,” Romel agreed with what Cristy said.
Cristy Fermin also said that the statement of Ella Cruz that went controversial is like an early promotion for the movie even though it is not released yet.
Maid in Malacañang is set to be released on July 20. The movie also features Cesar Montano, Ruffa Gutierrez, Cristine Reyes, Diego Loyzaga, Robin Padilla, Elizabeth Oropesa, Beverly Salviejo, and Karla Estrada.
