2 Women Attacked by Shark on the Red Sea, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry Confirms
WOMEN ATTACKED BY SHARK – Two (2) tourists, an Austrian and a Romanian, were attacked by a shark while they were swimming in Egypt’s Red Sea.
The thing about accidents is that they can happen anytime and anywhere – whether you are on the road, at sea, on air, or even in the comfort of your house where you can feel the safest. They can even happen at the time you least expect them to and during a supposedly fun and relaxing time.
In Egypt, two (2) women who were supposedly at the beaches in the Red Sea to enjoy and have some relaxing swimming time faced an expected incident that led to a tragic memory for their loved ones.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the two (2) women were attacked by a shark in the Red Sea in Egypt while they were swimming. The victims were an Austrian and a Romanian. The incident took place in the Sahl Hasheesh area south of Hurgada in Egypt.
The two (2) women attacked by a shark in the Red Sea in Egypt died as confirmed by Egypt’s environment ministry and the respective foreign ministries of the victims. Citing the details from APA, one of the women was a 68-year-old from Tyrol. She was in the Red Sea for the holidays.
Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafi has mandated that all beaches in the area will be closed for three (3) days. Based on the report, the Red Sea is really a popular tourist destination and a sight of sharks is not a surprise but they rarely attack people who abide by the limits set for swimming.
A task force was set to determine the possible causes of the shark attack and the behavior that led to the incident that took the life of two (2) tourists. It is not the first time to happen in the Red Sea as there were at least two (2) incidents before when a shark attack took the life of a Czech tourist and a German tourist.
