BONGBONG MARCOS – The new President of the Philippines took oath on the Bible used by his late father, former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., during the 1965 inauguration.

The Marcos admin has officially started its term. President Bongbong Marcos earned over 31 million votes during the Elections 2022. He ran under Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and gained the joint support of several huge political parties and local government candidates.

The presidential bid of Marcos Jr. was challenged by several petitions that were filed before the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Petitioners sought for his disqualification and the cancellation of his candidacy. His bid triggered the issues surrounding the regime of his late father, former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., the tax evasion charges against him, and his family’s alleged ill-gotten wealth.

Comelec junked all the petitions against Marcos Jr. Following the election results, petitions were further filed against him before the Supreme Court.

The joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives declared Marcos Jr. as the elected president of the country. The Supreme Court junked the petitions against him a few days before the inauguration.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ inauguration was held at the Philippine National Museum. It gathered the Marcos family, his Cabinet members, and several distinguished guests including the officials and key authorities from other countries. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he took an oath on the Bible used by his late father, former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., during his 1965 inauguration.

Based on the report, the said Bible where Marcos Jr. laid his hand to take an oath was cleaned and restored by a department under the National Library. The Bible was one of the two (2) Bibles used by Marcos Sr. It was fixed and kept in a box.

Marcos Jr. promised his 31 million voters that his administration will not fail them. Currently, the Filipino people awaits more people to be appointed in government departments under the new admin.
