The stylist of B ongbong Marcos shared his experience working with the incoming President
Stylist Jay Herrera revealed that incoming President Bongbong Marcos is not the type of a person who is “vanidoso.”
Being a public figure, it is but natural for celebrities and politicians to hire a stylist or an image specialist. However, there were those who do not really give much of attention to their appearance. PBBM was among those who do not mind about their looks before.
Based on the article in PEP, Herrera shared that he started working with President-elect Bongbong Marcos when he was still a Senator. The son of the late President Ferdinand Marcos did not directly hire Herrera.
“When he was still a senator, he had an interview with GMA so they searched for an artist and I was recommended,” the stylist said. At that time, Herrera was instructed to make PBBM look young and so she did a wavy Korean hairstyle.
The stylist said that after seeing the hairstyle, the politician asked “What did you do to my hair?” With that, Herrera said that he thought that would be his first and last time working with PBBM.
After a few weeks, the stylist was surprised that he was called again to style Marcos for another interview. Herrera shared that he asked the politician first for his suggestion and the latter became satisfied with his stylist’s work.
“Ginawa kong sleek yung buhok niya. Though at first, hindi pa siya sanay kaya pilit niyang binababa, until sa naging comfortable na din siya with the style at naging trademark na niya,” Bongbong Marcos’s stylist shared.
Herrera also revealed that the incoming President is not vain when it comes to his appearance. “Hindi siya vanidoso, hindi siya ganun ka-conscious sa kanyang appearance. Si Sir, kung ano ang itsura niya pagkaligo niya, okay na sa kanya yun. As is, where is. Kaya minsan may mga pictures siya na may part ng buhok niya na nakatikwas,” Jay Herrera said.
The stylist also shared that President-elect Bongbong Marcos would show a different facial expression when he is taking a lot of time for styling. With this, Herrera said that they were able to make a timeline when it comes to how long the styling would take.
