#WALANGPASOK – Some government offices in Manila announced a work suspension on June 29 and 30 for the inauguration of president-elect Bongbong Marcos.

The end of the term of the current administration is drawing near and another administration is about to start its term. On June 30, president-elect Bongbong Marcos will take his oath as the 17th president of the Republic of the Philippines.

Marcos won a landslide victory. The 2022 Elections result showed that the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer garnered over 31 million votes which gave him a huge lead over the other presidential candidates.

Aside from being the country’s next president, Marcos Jr. also previously announced that he will sit as the secretary of the Department of Agriculture ‘for now” when he assumes office. His oath-taking is set to be held at the Philippine National Museum.

Currently, preparations are ongoing for the upcoming inauguration of president-elect Bongbong Marcos who will take his oath on June 30. Due to the upcoming event, #WalangPasok has been declared in some government offices in Manila on June 29-30.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Supreme Court will suspend work on June 29-30 as mandated in a memorandum signed by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo. All roads leading to the High Court are affected by road closures and traffic rerouting.

Reportedly, there will also be work suspension in metropolitan and regional trial courts on June 29 and 30. With regards to the employees of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Main Office, Regional Election Director for the National Capital Region Office, as well as the election director offices in Region 4A and 4B, and Office of the Election Officer, City of Manila, they are on a work-from-home set up on June 28 and 29. Work is suspended on June 30.

Based on the report, the Court of Appeals station in Manila will also suspend work on June 29 and 30. The Bureau of Immigration (BI) main office will be operating on a skeletal workforce for three (3) days starting June 27.
