It wasn’t love at first sight between Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez. Their love blossomed gradually after working with each other as a love team on several projects. According to Carla, it took at least a year for them and numerous projects to fall in love with each other.

They started working together in GMA-7’s teleserye My Husband’s Lover in 2013. They played a married couple but it turned out that Tom’s character is gay. The following year, they did the movie “So It’s You”. In this movie, they are already a couple in real life.

In 2014, they starred in another teleserye called “My Destiny” and in 2015, they did another romantic-comedy film titled “No Boyfriend Since Birth”.

Two years after that, they got reunited in “I Heart Davao”, a series that aired in 2017. And three years after that, in 2020, they have worked together again in “Love Of My Life”.

It was in 2014 that the actor revealed he was courting Carla. He even said that the actress is someone he can be with forever. He even stated before that he can’t imagine his life without wanting her.
