Andrea Brillantes shared her humble beginning in showbiz
Kapamilya actress Andrea Brillantes recalled the time when she auditioned for GMA’s remake of the Mexican telenovela Marimar that featured Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera.
Just like many actresses in the Philippine showbiz industry, Andrea also went through auditions and experienced rejections. In a recent vlog of Brilliant Skin Essentials CEO Glenda Victorio, the Kapamilya actress shared that at a young age, she dreamed of becoming a popstar someday. Andrea revealed that she really admired Hannah Montana and Sharpay. However, her older siblings would say that she was out of tune and so she settled in aspiring to be an actress.
She shared that when she was young, growing up at her grandparents’ house, she would pretend that she is an actress doing both the “bida” and the “kontrabida” roles.
Then, Andrea Brillantes shared the first-ever auditioned that she had and it was for GMA’s Marimar. Back then, she was just around three or four years old. The young actress was able to answer the basic questions like her name and her favorite color but when she was told to do the acting, Andrea could not say anything.
“Nung sinabi na ‘Okay, let’s start na,’ hindi ko na alam yung lines ko, nawala lahat. So, umuwi na lang kami ni Mama,” Andrea shared. Then, her mother told her that maybe, she is just cute but she is not “pang-artista.”
She also shared that during her “extra” days, there were times when she was not even seen on screen. Andrea Brillantes said that she experienced waiting for several hours during auditions. “Madalas hindi ako nakukuha,” the young actress recalled.
When they heard about an audition in the Kapamilya network, Andrea said that they tried and luckily she was able to get the part and that was the start of her career.
