Diego Loyzaga talked about his past with Barbie Imperial
Kapamilya actor Diego Loyzaga revealed the reason behind his breakup with actress Barbie Imperial in a recent radio interview.
Diego and Barbie’s relationship, as well as their breakup, became a trending topic on social media. Many of their fans were saddened when they confirmed early this year that they are no longer together.
In past interviews, the former couple did not elaborate much on what happened that led to their breakup. They talked more about their healing process and the friendship that they were able to maintain. However, in a more recent interview, Barbie Imperial said that she already stopped communicating with Diego Loyzaga.
During the recent All Out segment of DJ Rico Robles on Monster Radio RX 93.1, based on the article in Balita, Diego revealed the cause of their breakup. He said that their relationship was not healthy anymore. While he and Barbie were still together, their relationship faced many intrigues.
“Ang dami nang pangyayari. Every time it (hindi pagkakaintindihan) would happen, we would check each other out in the relationship and be, like, ‘Are we sure we still want this? Are we sure we’re still in the right track?’” the actor said.

Diego also said that it the point in December that they were reassessing themselves and apparently, they were not helping each other to grow anymore. “And we both came to the agreement na ‘We’re not good for each other right now, so I think it’s better (na maghiwalay na lang),” he added.
Then, Diego was asked about the meeting that he had with Barbie last March. Their fans thought that this was a sign of getting back together. He said that they tried to patch things up but they realized it is not possible anymore.
Aside from this, the actor mentioned that “competition” was one of the reasons for their breakup. “May feeling na may competition, in a way, because we’re both artists, and as our industry is, it’s unspoken. Pero there’s always some sort of underlying competition in everything that we do,” Diego Loyzaga said because, for him, this is not healthy. The actor recently confirmed that he is dating former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Franki Russell.
