The female suspect sells ‘cheap or affordable’ rice to her victims. She is selling 30 sacks of rice for only P15, 000, which is quite cheaper compared to the regular price of rice per sack. The victims quickly grabbed the opportunity without any hesitation.

Antipolo PCP 3 Plt. Ricky Lopez said that the victims were deceived by Escuton’s promises and flowery words. The entrepreneurs just wanted to earn more but did not expect that it was a scam.

“Siguro naeenganyo sila kasi mura yung halaga ng bigas, so gusto nila na kumite rin ng maganda, kaya naeenganyo rin sila na isugal yung pera nila,” Lopez said.

According to a victim Grace Aristo, Rizza delivers the sacks of rice to the customers but failed to maintain her consistency after she convinced a lot of buyers. Most victims lost their savings to Escuton.

More than 50 individuals trooped to Antipolo police station to file complaints against Escuton. The suspect will face charges of large-scale estafa for stealing over P1 million from different victims.

The nine-month-old pregnant Escuton has been rushed to the hospital after experiencing birth pain.
