PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (May 31)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area will bring cloudy to rainy condition over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (May 31, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low pressure area will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted at 95 kilometers east of Maasin City, Southern Leyte. The LPA will be affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

The LPA will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Southern Quezon, Caraga, Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, and entire Visayas.

The LPA has a slim chance of developing into a storm, according to Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio. It is expected to dissolve within the day. “Itong low pressure ay inaasahan nating malusaw ngayong araw,” Aurelio said.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro.

The provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao and Benguet as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

“Madalas itong bahagyang maulap ay sa bandang umaga pero sa hapon at gabi, mataas ang tsansa ng mga pag-ulan,” Aurelio added.

The weather agency has also warned the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, eastern section of Visayas, rest of Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate.
