This is what Susan Roces said to her manager before she passed away.
SUSAN ROCES – Dolor Guevarra, manager of Susan Roces, reveals what the late veteran actress told her some time before dying.
Queen of Philippine Movies Susan Roces died at the age of 80 last May 20. She died at the Cardinal Santos Memorial Medical Center, a hospital near her home in Greenhills. The cause of her death according to her daughter Senator Grace Poe was cardiopulmonary arrest.
Julia Montes, one of the closest to the actress, expressed that she will forever value and take with her the learnings and lessons taught by the veteran actress to her. She expressed, “wag po kayong magalala lahat po ng mga turo ninyo ay di mawawala sa aking puso at patuloy na gagawin…”
Many people from the entertainment industry grieved over the great loss but many also take comfort from the thought that she is now with God and that she is finally reunited with Da King Fernando Poe Jr., her husband who died in 2004.
Dolor Guevarra, Susan’s manager, the one she would also often talk to over the phone shared a chilling line from the actress some days prior to her death. Accordingly, she said this based on a report from PEP: “Pagod na ako, 80 years old na naman na ako.”
Susan died at exactly 8:46 p.m. on May 20. And this is seemingly her “pahiwatig” or premonition that she is passing away soon.
Meanwhile, as a Queen of Philippine Movies, some of her iconic films include Miss Tilapia in 1956, Ana-Roberta, Ang Daigdig ng mga Api, Maruja in 1967, To Susan with Love in 1968, Divina Gracia in 1970, Bilangguang Puso in 1972, Hanggang sa Kabila ng Daigdig in 1974, Patayin mo sa Sindak si Barbara in 1974, and many other.
