“When we got there actually, nakasako na ‘yung mga aso and they were just waiting there to be picked up. 19 years nap ala siyang nagtitinda ng aso na buhay. Nangako naman na siya na hindi niya itutuloy but for us, that was a great success because 19 years at least ngayon matitigil na,” atty. Heidi Caguioa of AKF said.

The authorities failed to arrest the supposed buyer of poor dogs. The fur babies have been brought to the shelter of Animal Kingdom Foundation in Capas, Tarlac for treatment and rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, a dog owner in the town of Bustos, Bulacan killed his two dogs using an air gun after his wife complained about the noise of their pets.

The suspects will face corresponding sanctions and penalties for violation of the Animal Welfare Act of 1998.

“I would like to send a message, a strong message to anyone who is still doing maltreating dogs and practicing dog meat trade, itigil na po natin ‘yan. Magbago nap o tayo. Tratuhin natin ng maayos at makatao ang ating mga alagang hayop,” Caguioa added.
