Malacañang Announces Alert Level in Metro Manila, Other Areas from May 16-31

Malacañang Gives Update on Alert Level in PH amid COVID-19 Pandemic

MALACAÑANG – The Palace announced the alert level in Metro Manila and other areas from May 16 to May 31, 2022.

The fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is placing some restrictions on several countries for more than two (2) years now. The Philippines is one of the nations hit hard by the pandemic. It led to the closure of several small and big businesses that have operated for years.

The national government had to implement restrictions in the form of community quarantine measures and alert levels to fight the spread of COVID-19. Businesses had to abide and cooperate in the fight against the pandemic but, unfortunately, many were not able to withstand the demands of the crisis and had to close temporarily or permanently.

The economy of the country also suffered from the pandemic. Meanwhile, the coronavirus cases in the Philippines have dropped. Malacañang eased the restrictions in several areas with low cases of COVID-19.
