Group of Teenagers Joins Street Party During ‘Fiesta’ Without Wearing Facemask

Group of Teenagers Caught on Camera Violating Health Protocols Amid Street Party During ‘Fiesta’

A group of teenagers has joined a street party as they celebrate the “Fiesta” in Manila without wearing their face masks.

Over the past few months, a lot of hard-headed and pasaway residents have been violating the health safety protocols and quarantine guidelines. Most violators were neglecting physical distancing measures and even do not comply with the face mask policy.

In Manila, Mayor Isko Moreno released an order “Batas Pambansa 880” last week stating that public gathering under alert level 1 is allowed as long as organizers can obtain a permit from the local government unit.

Unfortunately, several residents during the ‘fiesta’ celebration failed to comply with the health safety protocols. Several groups of teenagers did not even wear their face masks while dancing during a street party. Some attendees were even drinking in the middle of the party.

The barangay officials apprehended and scolded the violators and even sent those who have no face to their respective houses.

The street-party attendees explained that they were just carried away by their excitement because it was the first time to celebrate the ‘fiesta’ since the pandemic began. However, the residents explained that they still take precautionary measures due to fear of the new COVID-19 variant.

Last week, the Department of Health reported that there are two individuals who have been infected by BA.2.12.1 subvariant of omicron in Metro Manila.

According to the Public Information Office, 25 active COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the City of Manila as of the weekend.
