Senate President Tito Sotto highlighted more important things than winning the vice-presidential race in the 2022 elections.

The veteran politician spent years in serving the Filipino people and this year, he aspired to become the next vice president of the Philippines. Unfortunately, this election season was not a victorious one for him.

In his recent statement after more than 90 percent of total votes have already been counted, the Senator has expressed that he has already accepted the election result, based on the report from Inquirer.

The people have made their choice. I accept the will of the People,” Sen. Tito Sotto said. Then, be gave his message for the next president and vice president.

God speed to our new President and Vice President and I quote from the Holy Book -JOSHUA 24:15, ‘But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD,’” the actor-turned-politician said.

Then, the Senator pointed out the more vital things for him than winning in the 2022 elections. “Word of honor and loyalty are of far greater importance than an election win. I am glad that I did not yield to any political pressure to change my principles and kept my integrity intact till the end,” Sotto said.

The recent partial and unofficial Comelec count, the Senate President has remained in third place in the vice presidential race since the counting of votes started.

Meanwhile, Sen. Tito Sotto’s running mate Sen. Ping Lacson has also accepted the election result. The former PNP Chief said in his tweet that he is going home now and will serve his family for a change.

As of this writing, the tandem of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte is still leading the race.
