Chie Filomeno aired her dismay over the unofficial senatorial race result
Kapamilya actress Chie Filomeno reacted to the senatorial race standing of Atty. Chel Diokno.
Just like many stars of ABS-CBN, Chie has supported the tandem of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan also. She also supported the senatorial bid of Diokno.
However, the recent partial and unofficial count of the Commission on Elections, the lawyer was not able to reach the top 12 spot. Regarding the standing of Diokno in the 2022 elections, Chie Filomeno shared her reaction.
The actress expressed disbelief that voters chose the senatorial candidate who is in the number 1 spot now than her candidate Chel Diokno. “Sinayang niyo si Chel… ang daming sinasayang!!!! Yun talaga NUMERO UNO niyo?!” she said.
As of this writing, actor Robin Padilla is leading the senatorial race. There have been social media posts that circulated showing the comparison between Padilla and Diokno.
Supporters of Diokno were pointing out his educational background and achievements against the profession of Padilla in the entertainment industry.
The Twitter post of Chie Filomeno about this received various reactions from netizens. There were those who agreed with what she said while some contradicted her statement.
Meanwhile, Chie was strong in defending her political views even back in 2020 when she defended Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto against accusations that he violated the quarantine protocol.
However, Chie Filomeno appeared to have attacked her fellow Kakampink and fellow former GirlTrends member Dawn Chang. This was the time when Dawn slammed multimedia star Toni Gonzaga for hosting the UniTeam proclamation rally. Many netizens assumed that the fiery cryptic posts of Chie was for Dawn as it is known to many that they had an issue when they were together in the said all-girl dance group.
