Celeste Cortesi Expresses Admiration For Mom Maria Luisa Rabimbi On Mother’s Day
CELESTE CORTESI – Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi expressed her admiration for mom Maria Luisa Rabimbi on Mother’s Day
Celeste Cortesi of Pasay took home the title of Miss Universe Philippines during the pageant’s coronation night last April 30. She took home the La Mer en Majeste crown which is worth P6 million.
The 24-year-old beauty queen first made her presence known through Miss Earth Philippines 2018 competition. She won a slew of special awards including Ms. Photogenic and Best in Swimsuit.
Celeste Cortesi’s winning answer in the question-and-answer portion revealed the strong bond she shared with her mom. Following her MUPH 2022 win, she shared photos of her mom on IG smiling yet teary-eyed during her crowning moment. It came with a caption, “Far from each other, but always connected. To make you proud is the greatest fulfillment of my life.”

During a virtual meet and greet with Celeste Cortesi and runner-ups hosted by PLDT Home, the MUPH winner reiterated her appreciation for her mom. She said, “I already talked about it a little bit in my journey but my mother is the most important person in my life. I’ve been away from her for almost three years, and being able to connect with her is very important to me.”
“This weekend is Mother’s Day and you know, I can just be grateful for everything she’s done to me. She’s been so supportive during this journey for Miss Universe Philippines that I can just only say thank you to her. She’s been doing many sacrifices for me, my sister, and the whole family in the past. And now I just want to kind of give back to her in the best way I can.”
The Filipino-Italian beauty queen also looked back on her answer during the MUPH pageant. She said, “That’s why when they asked me the question – my final question during the coronation night, the first thing that I thought was really my mother because she’s really the most important and whatever I do, every single action I do, especially from here in the Philippines, I really know it’s for her. So I can just be grateful for having her in my life.”
Celeste Cortesi also shared what makes her mom “uniquely beautiful.” She said, “It’s really her determination. The way she is so strong, the way she sacrificed to provide for me and my sister as a single mom in a different country, which is Italy, it just says a lot about her strength and about her determination.”
“It doesn’t matter what she goes through; it doesn’t matter the challenges or struggles she’s going through, she’s always strong and she can always help others. And that, I would say, is the most beautiful thing about my mother that I hope, one day, I would be able to be just like her,” she added.
