Sharon Cuneta On Overcoming Foul Remarks and Body-Shaming Statements

This is how Megastar Sharon Cuneta handled the negative comments about her weight.

SHARON CUNETA – Veteran actress and singer Sharon Cuneta shares how she handled body-shaming comments about her.

Philippines’ Megastar Sharon Cuneta believes she is still a work in progress following her 85-pound weight loss journey. She is a fit-spiration to many of her followers and her journey started in 2016. It was a slow and on-and-off process and what pushed her harder is when she started seeing changes on her scale.

Among the ways that helped her is training her stomach to eat little. This way helped her cut her calorie consumption. She also eats slowly and has frequent but small meals. She did not try a crash diet to achieve her body and always hydrates herself. But above everything else, one must do is to be very disciplined and it’s never too late to pursue something.

And being someone who personally suffered body shaming, she quipped that it makes no sense at all because not everyone was born with the same body type. Some can gain faster and some can lose faster and there’s no sense in criticizing someone because of their physical appearance.

“Stop it. It’s not uso. It’s hurtful, it’s not healthy. And you are not perfect either,” she added. The Megastar also said that those who are suffering from being overweight should not make themselves feel bad about it.

Her weight loss journey is actually not for vanity because she did it really for her health and for herself to be more comfortable about herself.

She expressed base on a report from PUSH, “Stop body shaming and stop picking on people who have their faces retouched or whatever. If you have a perfect face but your nose is flat, why not have it done? Di ba? ‘Yung mas bagay sa mukha mo. O kaya yung papano naman yung pinanganak kang may harelip, yung ganun?
