Anges Bailen Removed From Slate Of Ka Leody De Guzman & Walden Bello
LEODY DE GUZMAN – Miriam Defensor-Santiago’s former staff Anges Bailen has been dropped from the senatorial slate of Ka Leody De Guzman and Walden Bello.
Agnes Joyce Garlit Bailen is one of the 63 candidates vying for a seat in the Senate this upcoming election. She is a lawyer, teacher, and former government official.
The 50-year-old politician was the chief of staff of late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago. She also advised Representatives Lani Mercado-Revilla and Jose V. Yap on political matters at the lower level.
If elected, Agnes Bailen promises to push legislation that will prioritize a scientific and humane response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She also vows to work for fair governance by pushing various accountability measures and strengthening the education and economy.
The tandem of labor leader Ka Leody de Guzman and activist Walden Bello has dropped Bailen from their slate. In a post on Twitter on Wednesday, Ka Leody announced the final list of senatorial hopefuls that the tandem and their party, Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM) will be supporting for the May 9 elections.

Senatorial hopefuls running under Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM) are environmental advocates David D’ Angelo, Roy Cabonegrao, and labor organizer Luke Espiritu.
De Guzman-Bello tandem is also endorsing eight (8) guest candidates:
- Marawi civic leader Samira Gutoc
- Senator Leila de Lima
- Senator Risa Hontiveros
- Indigenous Peoples’ rights advocate Teddy Baguilat
- Human rights lawyer Chel Diokno
- Human rights lawyer Neri Colmenares
- Labor advocate Sonny Matula
- Labor organizer Elmer Labog
In March, Ka Leody bared the Partido Lakas ng Masa’s complete senatorial slate which then included Agnes.
