SHOOTING INCIDENT – The police authorities shoot a male suspect for shooting the checkpoint personnel in Santa Maria, Laguna.

Nowadays, the Philippine government is already implementing stricter rules and regulations to prevent the increasing rate of criminality in the country. However, crimes are still happening behind the knowledge of the authorities.

The police authorities are conducting checkpoints to prevent criminals from entering or escaping a certain town and to prevent motorists without proper documents to drive.

The cops in Santa Maria, Laguna were forced to shoot a male suspect for shooting a soldier at a checkpoint. The police officers have no choice but to shoot the suspect to prevent him from injuring other personnel.

The police authorities reported that the suspect asked the cop to return his knife, which has been confiscated at the checkpoint. The policemen refused to return it to him due to safety protocols prior to the incident.

Unfortunately, the man pulled out a gun and attempted to shoot a policeman but the bullet went straight to a soldier. The incident leads to a shootout, which leads to the suspect’s untimely death.

According to the gunman’s family, the suspect has a mental disorder and is supposed to undergo rehabilitation at a mental hospital. The suspect’s remains have been brought to the mortuary.

The wounded soldier is currently recuperating at the hospital. The authorities will continue to investigate to find out where the suspect got the gun.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage caught a man who declared a holdup at a gasoline station. The culprit stole the money and immediately escaped. The hold upper is currently at large.
