PAGASA Says LPA & ITCZ to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (May 3, 2022)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Low Pressure Area and the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (May 3, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Low Pressure Area and the Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.

The LPA has been last spotted at 230 kilometers east southeast of General Santos City. The LPA is embedded along the ITCZ affecting Mindanao. The Frontal System will be affecting Extreme Northern Luzon.

The Frontal System will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

The Easterlies/Localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet and Aurora.

Whole Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

“Patuloy na nakakaapekto ang ITCZ sa Mindanao. Yung LPA na ating binabantayan ay hindi halos umalis sa kanyang kinalalagyan, malapit pa rin ito sa Mindanao, Mababa pa rin ang tsansa na maging bagyo pero inaasahan pa rin na ito’y magbibigay ng pag ulan sa Mindanao,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The weather agency has also warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
