‘Dugo-Dugo’ Gang Member Successfully Steals Hard-Earned Cash of Former OFW

DUGO DUGO GANG – A former OFW lost his hard-earned cash worth P500, 000 to a member of the notorious ‘Dugo-Dugo’ gang.

A former overseas Filipino worker named Vince Fortun has lost his hard-earned cash worth P500, 000 to a ‘Dugo-Dugo’ gang member. The incident happened while he and his wife were at work.

Fortun narrated that the suspect called his daughter and made a story to deceive the young lady. The suspect told the female teenager that her parents have been involved in a road accident after beating the red light.

The gang member claimed that Fortun has been jailed due to an accident and he needs cash for release. The innocent victim immediately followed the suspect’s instructions without realizing that it was a scam.

“Di ba tatay mo si ano? Ang sabi beating the red light daw po ako tapos nakakulong daw po ako ngayon. So, ang sinasabi po dun sa bata meron daw perang nakatago dun sa aparador namin,” Fortun said.

The ex-OFW also said that his daughter even took the jewelry and give it to the suspect. She delivered it to the suspect at Muñoz, Quezon City.

The Philippine National Police-Anti-Cybercrime Group spokesperson Police Inspector Michelle Sabino explained that the suspect is pressuring the victim so they don’t have the time to think.

‘Yan ang gusto nila mabilisan so you don’t have time to think,” Sabino said.

The police authorities were already searching for the suspect.
