75 Individuals Suffer From Food Poisoning After Eating Galunggog and Tahong

BAYAMBANG, PANGASINAN – 75 individuals reportedly suffered food poisoning after eating green mussels and galunggong.

Food poisoning is the result of eating contaminated, spoiled, or toxic food. Victims usually suffer from symptoms of food poisoning including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Recently, about 75 residents of Barangay Inirangan in Bayambang town, Pangasinan suffered food poisoning. The victims reportedly eat galunggong and green mussels from an ambulant vendor.

The municipal health office personnel said that the victim reportedly bought the goods from a vendor roaming around the area to sell seafood. The victims experienced several signs and symptoms of food poisoning.

The officials will still conduct an investigation to determine if the cause of food poisoning is red tide toxin. Patients also give samples for testing to determine whether the goods have red tide toxin.
