The camp VP Leni Robredo slammed this “fake news”
Atty. Barry Gutierrez, the spokesperson of Vice President Leni Robredo said that the allegation that Party of the Philippines (CPP) founding chairman Jose Maria “Joma” Sison is adviser to the presidential candidate is an “outright lie.”
A report from a The Manila Times stated that a Mata Ng Agila program on Net25 has reported about this. It was said that Sison admitted being an adviser to the Vice President and allegedly, he is funding her presidential candidacy.
The report allegedly stated that the communist leader has talked to VP Leni and her spokesperson Barry Gutierrez on how the media would attack presidential candidates Mayor Isko Moreno and former Senator Bongbong Marcos.
However, VP Leni Robredo reiterated that she will “never link up with any individual or group espousing violence to push their interests.” As Atty. Gutierrez called this a lie, he said that they are “studying the appropriate case to be filed against these perpetrators of misinformation.”
In a statement that was published on Saturday, Joma Sison called the allegation that he is VP Leni’s adviser and that he is endorsing her as “fake news”. He also stressed that he was not interviewed as what the allegation claimed.
On the other hand, Sison said that he thinks the Vice President is “far more qualified” for the position of president compared to her strong rival Bongbong Marcos.
“I repeat that Robredo is far more qualified as candidate for president than a spoiled brat like Marcos who is a keeper of money and other assets stolen from the people and who wants to revive the brutal and corrupt rule of his father and continue the same kind of rule by Duterte,” the CPP founder said.
