Bicol Spicy Oragons Banned from Playing at Pearl of the Orient Cup for Walking Out During Game

The Pilipinas Super League fined Bicol Spicy Oragons with P500, 000 and banned them from the remaining games.

PSL commissioner Marc Pingris and deputy commissioner Chelito Caro sent a memorandum prohibiting the Bicol Spicy Oragons to play from the remaining games in the Pearl of the Orient Cup.

PSL president Rocky Chan said that the team will forfeit the games and will be charged a fine of P500, 000. The group will finish the ongoing league with 3 wins -11 loss record as a result of their alleged violation.

The Bicol team received sanctions after walking out of their Cocolife Pilipinas Super League (PSL) game against the Cagayan De Oro Higalas at the Manuel A. Roxas Sports Complex in Roxas, Zamboanga del Norte on April 7, 2022.

According to PSL, the team violated the Section 5 of the PSL’s rules and regulations for the walkout The organization banned Oragon’s head coach Monel Kallos, assistant coach Cezar Babasa, and team utility member Roneo Termanel as well as Joseph Brutas for three months for their behavior.

Chan has also expressed his sadness due to the incident but the group need to face the consequence of their actions. The decision has been made between PSL and their technical team. PSL is also open to hear Spicy Oragon’s appeal.

“Malungkot tayo sa nangyari, but the decision was discussed between our technical team and Commissioner Marc and Deputy Comm. Chelito Caro based on the guidelines and rules, The league is not closing its doors for the team and sa mga personalities for any reconsideration of the decision handed to them,” Chan said.
