Joseph Estrada encouraged PGMA to run again
Former President Joseph Estrada shared his birthday message for former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Estrada became the president of the Philippines in 1998. At that time, the Vice President was Arroyo. The Edsa people power 2 happened in 2001 and Estrada, after three years of being President, was impeached.
Because of that, Arroyo became the President. She was once again elected president in 2004. Currently, she is running for a congressional post in the second district of Pampanga.
PGMA had an advance birthday celebration in Lubao town and it was attended by UniTeam’s vice-presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and Estrada’s son Jinggoy Estrada, one of the senatorial candidates of the BBM-Sara tandem.
During the event for the 75th birthday celebration of Arroyo, Estrada gave his message through a phone call, based on the report from Inquirer. The device was connected to the speaker system in the venue. In his message, the former actor told Arroyo to run again. “I hope you run again, I’ll be your campaign manager,” Joseph Estrada said.
“We need you, we need you,” he added. Arroyo replied with an expression of gratitude for what Estrada said. She also greeted him because he will be celebrating his 85th birthday on April 19. Arroyo also said, “We need you also.”
Meanwhile, during the event, Arroyo was wearing a Sara Duterte shirt. She asked the voters in Pampanga to give a landslide win to the BBM-Sara tandem.
Previously, the political party of PGMA, as well as the parties where Joseph Estrada and former President Fidel V. Ramos expressed support for the candidacy of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte.
