Caloocan Cops Temporarily Relieved From Post Over Alleged Involvement in Stealing Water Vendor’s Cash Aid

Six cops have been temporarily dismissed from their post for allegedly taking the cash aid of a poor street vendor.

Last week, the video footage of several suspects claiming as police officers allegedly stole the money for a water vendor. The vendor’s daughter Marjolain Yuson sought help from the authorities to give justice to what happened to her father.

The vendor identified as Eddie Acaso Yuson is supposed to buy a meal for his family at Jollibee when two men apprehended him for an unknown reason. The suspects allegedly threatened him and took his P14, 000 cash along with important documents.

Cash Aid

The poor victim went to the barangay hall and reported the incident. The vendor gets emotional and bursts into tears due to the incident. The helpless man got traumatized and his job has been affected by the incident.

According to the reports, Yuson’s P14, 000 cash came from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, which was given to him as livelihood assistance. He is supposed to it as a capital to sell bottled water and soft drinks.

Recently, Caloocan police chief Colonel Samuel Mina confirmed that the cops involved on the incident were members of the anti-drug enforcement unit. However, the accused denied that the incident happened.

Mina said that his men reportedly asked the victim to present his identification cards during the anti-illegal drug operation.

“They vehemently denied the accusation…Kasi sabi lang nila, chineck nila yung body bag nya. Kasi umaaligid sya sa legitimate na anti-drug operations. Standard procedure nila na i-verify kung sino sya, chineck body bag nya, Kinuha mga IDs nya,” Mina said.

The policemen involved on the incident have been temporarily relieved from their post during the investigation.
