Last Sightings of Boracay Tourist Couple Includes Having Breakfast Together Prior to their Death
LAST SIGHTINGS OF BORACAY TOURIST – The tourist couple was seen having breakfast a few hours before they were found dead inside their hotel room.
Recently, an unexpected incident took place in one of the hotels on Boracay Island, a famous tourist destination in the Philippines. The stretch of beaches on the island is drawing a lot of local and foreign tourists all year round most especially during the summer season.
Boracay was previously closed for six (6) months as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) implemented rehabilitation of the island. Several non-compliance hotels and establishments on the island were closed.
Amid the Boracay Island gathering of a lot of people who want their summer vacation to be extra special, two (2) tourists were found dead inside their hotel room. The tourists were identified as Dennis Yu and Maria Cecilia were both 44 years old and a couple who arrived on the island last March 13.
Based on a report on Inquirer, the tourist couple was supposedly set for a check-out last March 21 but when hotel staff checked on them inside their hotel room, they were both lying on the floor dead. The authorities ruled out the possibility of a third party being involved in the incident.
The medicolegal exam results showed that Jellicode has “ligature marks” while Yu has cuts that were believed to be self-inflicted. The autopsy and toxicology results also revealed that the woman died earlier than her Australian partner.
Based on the report, there were sightings of the Boracay tourist couple before they were found dead inside their hotel room. Both their belongings including their foreign and Peso cash were intact.

Dennis Yu was also seen leaving the hotel room alone at around 9:00 in the morning and he returned shortly. Their mobile phones will undergo the digital forensic test as part of the investigation of the incident.
