Couple Tourists in Boracay Found Dead by Hotel Staff

TOURISTS IN BORACAY – A couple who visited Boracay Island, Philippines was found dead inside their hotel room.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines is Boracay Island. It has been the usual go-to of both local and foreign travelers every summer season. Previously, it was closed for at least six (6) months by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the rehabilitation of the beach.

Several hotels, inns, and resorts can be found on Boracay Island. Being one of the most popular tourist spots in the country, most people who visit the island already secure a hotel or resort reservation before visiting the island.

However, like in several circumstances in other tourist destinations and even in hotels in the mainland cities, a recent incident in one of the hotel resorts in Boracay Island shocked a lot of people. Based on a report on Inquirer, two (2) tourists in Boracay Island were found dead inside their hotel room and the authorities have ruled out the possibility of a 3rd party being involved.

The couple was found dead inside their hotel room last March 21 and Police Lieutenant Colonel Don Dicksie de Dios, the police chief in Malay, Aklan, confirmed that they have ruled out the possibility that another person was involved in the deaths of the couple.

Both tourists in Boracay that were found dead inside their hotel room were 44 years old. They arrived on the island last March 13 and were supposed to check out from the hotel last March 21. Hotel staff checked on them because of their scheduled check-out date from the hotel and found them lying on the floor. Currently, investigations are still ongoing.
