Judy Ann Santos recalled the time when she was still a child star
Teleserye queen Judy Ann Santos talked about the younger generation of artistas in the entertainment industry and their attitude towards work.
From being a child star doing small roles, Juday has paved her way to stardom. She is now known as one of the prominent drama actresses in the country. Throughout her journey in showbiz, she has become a darling to many fans and fellow celebrities.
In a recent vlog of actress Meryll Soriano, she and Judy Ann Santos talked about their childhood memories in the entertainment industry as they both grew up in front of the camera.
They both pointed out the importance of professionalism and discipline as an artist. Then, Juday shared that stories reached her about the attitude of young stars.
“Marami akong naririnig ngayon na ibang ganap sa mga batang artista. Though I haven’t work with them just yet. Gusto ko nga silang makatrabaho, ayaw ko namang basta maniwala lang sa sabi-sabi. Unfair naman ‘yun sa part nila, di ba?” she said.
Meryll asked her with a laugh who those artists are. However, Juday said that perhaps the younger generation of artists are not like what they were before because of the privileges that they have now.
“Siguro marami lang mga bagets na very privilege sa panahon ngayon kasi nga hindi nila napagdaanan ang maraming bagay na na-enjoy natin ‘yung journey kasi. Ako kasi from being a talent to batang Maricel (Soriano) batang Snooky (Serna), impaktita. Lahat ng mga batang impakta nagawa ko pero masaya,” the drama actress said.
Merryl added that back then, the child stars were the ones who had their scenes taken last. It was because the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has not implemented yet the law when it comes to the working hours of minors.
“Kami ‘yung huli. ‘Yung tulog na tulog ka na sa set tapos gigisingin ka tapos maiyak-iyak kasi 5 a.m. na pero kailangan mo pa ring gawin wala naman kasing mga cut-off noon,” Meryll shared.
Judy Ann Santos also recalled that back then, everyone on the set is like a family to each other. She also said that before, if an artist has a secret, that will remain a secret but now, this is not the case. “Pag sinabing sikreto, sikreto talaga, ngayon kasi pag sinabi mong sikreto ‘weh’ o atin lang ‘to ha? Asahan mo nasa Instagram stories ng selected friends,” she said.
