Lady Vendor Finally Passes Licensure Exams for Teachers After 15 Takes
A lady vendor named Richelle Ann Gonzales has finally passed the Licensure Examinations for Teachers after 15 tries.
12 years after graduating from college, Richelle Ann Gonzales finally reached her dream to become a licensed teacher after passing the January 2022 LET board examinations. She passed the licensure exams after 15 takes.
The newly-licensed teacher from Palapag, Northern Samar expressed her happiness after achieving her long-time dream. She also reminisced all her struggles and hardships for failing the board exams for 14 times.
According to Gonzales, she asked a rice delivery service vehicle to give her a ride to process the documents necessary for the examinations. She traveled for more than two hours just to reach the exam venue in Catarman.
“Kahit gustuhin mong mag-board exam, wala kang pera na magagamit pambayad para makapag-exam dahil sa mas kailangan ng mga anak mo, kailangan ng pamilya mo,” Gonzales said.
Gonzales has been a cloth and soap vendor before she passed the board exams. She also worked at the senior citizen department of their municipality but did not renew her contract to focus on her review.
Richelle aims to teach the students in their town especially to the school wherein she completed her secondary education. She also expressed her willingness to serve her fellow countrymen rather than serving foreign nationals.
“Dapat nasa puso’t isip mo at pagpupursigi na gusto kong magturo, gusto kong maging guro, na kahit anong pagsubok, kahit gaano katagal, hindi ka hihinto,” Gonzales said.
