Seasoned broadcaster Karen Davila became a trending topic on social media on March 22, Tuesday, after netizens noticed that she joined the caravan and rally of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos.
Netizens shared various reaction when an unexpected thing for Karen to do surfaced online. Videos and photos of her taken during the caravan and rally that the UniTeam did in Cavite circulated on social media.
Supporters and critics of the presidential candidate who is leading most of the surveys were wondering why the seasoned journalist was spotted at the UniTeam’s caravan and campaign rally.
On the other hand, there were those who appeared to be skeptical of Karen Davila’s presence in Bongbong Marcos’s political event. Some accused the seasoned broadcaster of just finding negative things to report against the presidential candidate.
There were also those who speculated that this is just for the television program of Karen or her vlog. A few minutes after her name topped the Twitter trend, Karen Davila shared a post explaining her presence in UniTeam’s campaign activity.
She said that it was for the Kampanya Serye On The Road and Presidential Interviews of ABS-CBN. Karen said that she was there for the shoot because she was assigned to cover the campaign activities of Bongbong Marcos and Senator Manny Pacquiao.
She further explained, “Henry Omaga Diaz is covering VP Leni Robredo & my co-anchors have been assigned to other candidates.”
Meanwhile, Marcos has gained the endorsement of PDP-Laban wing under Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, the faction supported by President Rodrigo Duterte. The ruling party released a resolution stating that the UniTeam’s presidential bet is fit to continue the vision of the current administration for the country.
