Marian Rivera recalled her Marimar stint
Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera revealed that her hair got damaged when she was doing the Marimar series.
Before K-drama rose to fame, many Filipinos were avid fans of Mexican telenovelas. Marian did the Filipino adaptation of Latina star Thalia’s Marimar. In the series, the female lead had thick, curly hair and so the Kapuso actress’s hair was also styled like that.
However, this could have led to Marian Rivera’s baldness. Luckily, it did not reach that point. Based on the article in Inquirer, the hair of the actress was compromised in order to achieve the Marimar hair.
“Ito ‘yung time na hindi namin na-achieve ‘yung look ng buhok ni Marimar. Pinakulot, ini-straight at pinakulayan [‘yung buhok ko] hanggang sa ang ending nagputol-putol na ‘yung buhok ko. Dumating sa point na umiiyak na talaga ako kasi feeling ko makakalbo na ako sa mga pinaggagawa sa hair ko,” the wife of Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes shared.
Marian admitted that she was really worried back then because just like many women, her hair matters a lot. She was happy that after a lot of things that were done to her hair to achieve the signature hairstyle of Marimar, it was slowly getting fixed after getting damaged. When her hair turned back to normal, Marian said that her confidence also returned.
Meanwhile, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes are set to do a sitcom soon. The actress shared in a previous interview that they are already preparing for this as she said that she is ready to do tapings again. Marian’s last TV project before she took a break was the fantasy series Super Ma’am.
