LTFRB Says 35k of 136k Card Holders Received Fuel Subsidy
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board announced that 35,000 of the 136,000 card holders have received their fuel subsidy.
On Wednesday (March 16, 2022), LTFRB executive director Maria Kristina Cassion said that about 35,000 of the 136,000 initial card holders have already received their fuel subsidy worth P6, 500 each.
Cassion announced that the Land Bank of the Philippines will complete the distribution of fuel subsidy to the card holders by Friday (March 18, 2022). She expects that the daily credited accounts will be doubled.
“Balita po natin, nasa 35,000 po kahapon yung na-credit. So inaasahan natin na dodoble na ‘yung every day na nacre-credit ng Land Bank,” Cassion said.
Land Bank started to transfer the P6, 500 fuel subsidy last Tuesday (March 15). The amount has been distributed to public utility vehicle drivers and operators affected by the series of pump price hike over the past few months.
The LTFRB chief advised the card holders who did not yet received the fuel subsidy to wait until Friday or after the completion of the distribution.
The agency is still processing the provision of fuel subsidy for beneficiaries including operators and drivers of buses, tricycle, and delivery riders. Cassion explained that they are still part of the expanded program.
LTFB also advised bus companies to provide their account numbers to the respective agency’s regional offices because there is an ongoing payroll for buses as of the current time.
The agency is set to release guidelines for taxi cabs and transport network vehicle services to process their fuel subsidy in Land Bank branches.
