Sharon Cuneta Not The Original Singer Of ‘Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas’?

Netizens have this claim against Sharon Cuneta

Accusations surfaced that Megastar Sharon Cuneta is not the original singer of the classic song Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.

The said song became a trending topic on social media just recently because Sharon criticized senatorial aspirant Salvador Panelo when he performed this during a meet-and-greet of Mayor Sara Duterte with the LGBT community.

Panelo reacted to this by saying that he asked permission from Viva to perform the said song. He even shared a video showing that he is dedicating the classic song to his son who passed away.

Later on, Sharon Cuneta took down her post against the known ally of President Rodrigo Duterte and said that she wants good vibes only. The singer-actress has been active in supporting the candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo and her husband Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

This issue does not stop there. Based on the article in PEP, there were netizens who even claimed that Sharon is not the original singer of the said song. The records show that the Megastar released this song in 1994 under the album with the same title.

On the other hand, she sang this also for the movie with the same title that she did with Dina Bonnevie and Cherie Gil in 1986. In the claim of netizens, they said that singer Jun Polistico recorded this song originally.

However, the veteran balladeer just covered this song in 1991 when he signed a contract with Viva Records. Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas was the carrier single of his album back then. Reportedly, the balladeer even shared the story of his return to recording years ago.
