EROS ATALIA BIOGRAPHY – Writer of the modern Philippine literature is Eros Atalia whose life story is below and some of his notable works.

A famous contemporary writer is Eros Atalia who is half-Filipino. He is a writer, professor, and journalist and was awarded by various award-giving bodies for his talent and masterpieces. He finished his Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino degree in Philippine Normal University in 1996. Atalia was a member of the official publication of PNU, The Torch.

Many of his works were awarded like “Maririing Tusok ng Kalawanging Karayom sa Nagngangalit na Ugat” from Unang gantimpala sa Pambansang Patimpalak sa Pagsulat ng Tula ng Pandaylipi Ink. in the year 1995.

His poem “Maglaba ay Di Biro” was also awarded and recognized and in 2004, his essay entitled “Ang Politika ng Wikang Pambansa: Mula sa Iba’t Ibang Pagsipat at Paglapat (Paghimay, Pagbistay at Pagtugaygay sa Suliranin ng Pilipinas sa Wika)” won third in Gawad Collantes.

Eros’ novel called “Ligo na U, Lapit na Me” was also adapted into a film and joined the 7th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. Another masterpiece from him that received a film adaptation and became an official entry to the 8th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival in 2012 is the “Intoy Syokoy ng Kalye Marino”.
