As the May 2022 Election draws near, political issues are crossing the surface left and right. They are present in both the local and the national governments. Several politicians have thrown shade against each other. To a lot of people, such a scenario is no longer a surprise during the election period.

One of those who believe that criticisms are usual components of the “old system” of Philippine politics is Kapuso actor-TV host Vic Sotto. He was asked about his reaction to the negative statements against his son, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto.

A few months before the upcoming May 2022 Elections, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto had shady exchanges of statements with Pasig Vice Mayor Iyo Bernardo who accused him of using social media to put on a show. He also claimed that the key officials in the city were not given to individuals who are really residents of Pasig.

Other camps also criticized Mayor Vico Sotto for allegedly having no new infrastructure in the city and the release of several cash assistance in the city. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Eat Bulaga! host Vic Sotto said that these are all part of the “old system” of the Philippine politics that his son wants to change.

Vic stressed that they are really part of the political system but “actions speak louder than words”. He stressed that the people can really see the work of Pasig Mayor Vico and “it’s impeccable”. The actor-TV host stressed his belief that his son can do more because his term was greatly affected by the pandemic.

Vico Sotto is running for re-election as Pasig Mayor in the upcoming May 2022 Election. The city’s incumbent Vice Mayor, Iyo Bernardo, is seeking the same post in the upcoming poll.
