JULIA BARRETTO – Kapamilya actress Julia Barretto accepts daring roles as part of her exploration of being a professional actress.
From a child star to being a dramatic actress with conventional and wholesome roles – we have all seen it in Julia Barretto. She particularly grew up with cameras following her around. She is no commoner in show business. She is the daughter of celebrities Dennis Padilla and Marjorie Barretto. Famous stars Claudine and Gretchen Barretto are her aunties and her current boyfriend is Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson.
We have seen her growth as an actress and now, as she goes out of her shell and comfort zone as a wholesome actress, she goes daring. Exploring her capacities and skills, she accepted daring roles and to her, it’s not just for the sake of doing it but it’s all for the sake of her professionalism and the story. She’s passionate about acting and being trusted to do a certain character, she doesn’t want to have limitations.
In her film Bahay Na Pula, she did some daring scenes with her leading man and for her, doing such is a leap of faith she got to take. She believes that accepting mature roles is all part of her growing up and growing old. She said, “It’s a leap of faith I have to take. After all, it’s part of growing up and growing old if I really want to be committed to and passionate with my craft.”
It’s also part of her commitment as an actress. She believes that if she’ll set herself limitations, it’s the same thing as putting limitations on the creative process of the project.
