This is the love story of married couple Barbie Hsu and Koo Jun-yup who tied the knot shortly after the actress’ divorce became legally official.
BARBIE HSU – “Meteor Garden” star Barbie Hsu confirms marriage with South Korean rapper Koo Jun-Yup and this is their story of a second chance.
Original Meteor Garden star portraying the iconic and most-loved Shan Cai is Barbie Hsu who is now 45 years old, divorced, and has two kids. After the success of the series, she appeared in other shows like Reign of Assassins, Connected, and series Mars and Summer’s Desire. After marrying Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei in 2012, she declined to accept any acting roles.
10 years after their marriage, they separated. They filed for divorce in November 2021 and it has been declared legally official just roughly four months ago. And in that duration, she found herself falling in love again and this time, with an old flame, the 52-year-old South Korean rapper Koo Jun-Yup or also known as DJ Koo.
Their love story can be traced back to 1998. She saw him perform during the concert of Taiwanese singer Tarcy Su and right from there she fell in love with him. They dated for almost a year and proof of their romance two decades ago is her tattoo “Koo”. He was a member then of the 1990s South Korean dance music duo Clon. But their relationship was opposed by his management which led to their heartbreaking split.
And 20 years after, when he heard that she got divorced, he contacted her again and they reconnected. They’ve had constant communication and that’s how their second chance bloomed. They are now married and on Instagram, Barbie shared the report in her latest post, an indication of confirmation.
She said in her post as per the translation from Page One, “Life is uncertain. I cherish the happiness I have in the present. I thank everything that has led me step by step to where I am now.”
This is Barbie’s second marriage while it’s the first for Koo.
