Pres. Duterte Set To Campaign for the Candidates of PDP-Laban this Election 2022
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to begin campaigning for the PDP-Laban candidates starting March 25, 2022.
The campaign period for the May 2022 Election has officially started last February 8, 2022. Currently, most candidates are busy on their scheduled visits to cities and provinces in the country to campaign. A grand rally is usually held in every province visited by the national election candidates.
Several groups have also spoken their side and expressed their support to certain candidates in the upcoming election. Many celebrities and private individuals have also pledged their support to their bets in the upcoming poll. Some known personalities in the different fields also help campaign for the candidates they want to vote for.
In the case of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Department of Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi said that the Chief Executive will start campaigning for the candidates of PDP-Laban this March 25, 2022.
The 76-year-old President is not yet endorsing a presidential candidate for the upcoming election. His party, PDP-Laban, has no bet for president and vice president. The Cusi wing of the ruling party adopted presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio as the candidate that they will support for vice president. She is running under Lakas-CMD.
The Chief Executive previously vowed that he will make sure that the Filipinos will have an honest and fair election this May. Based on the report, there are 6,592 national and local candidates under PDP-Laban this May 2022 Election.
Aside from campaigning for the PDP-Laban candidates, the ruling party also plans to bare their “11-Point Agenda for Continuity”. Based on the report, these are the following:
- Fight against corruption
- Eradication of poverty
- Advancement of peace and order
- Ending the pandemic
- Defeating communist terrorism in the country
- Sustaining economic growth
- Generation of jobs
- Strengthening national defense and foreign relations
- Educational reforms
- Decentralization and local government empowerment
- Charter change and Federalism
