Is money an issue in Toni Gonzaga and Karla Estrada’s political stints?
Kapamilya stars Toni Gonzaga and Karla Estrada are being questioned because of their political stints in the 2022 elections.
Toni has vocally expressed her support for the UniTeam’s tandem of former Senator Bongbong Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. After she hosted the proclamation rally last month, the wife of filmmaker Paul Soriano has hosted several campaign events of the UniTeam in different provinces.
Aside from the fact that she is supporting the BBM-Sara tandem, critics of Toni are also attacking her for supporting the team that included Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, one of the prominent lawmakers who voted against the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise.
Meanwhile, Karla Estrada is running for Tingog party-list representative. From the time she filed for her candidacy, the actress-host received negative reactions. It is because the first nominee of the party-list also voted against the Kapamilya network’s franchise renewal.
With this, a question surfaced: “How much did Toni Gonzaga and Karla Estrada receive?” In a recent Showbiz Update vlog of comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz, the political stints of Karla and Toni were one of the topics that they discussed.
One of Ogie’s co-hosts, Tita Jegs, asked, “Totoo ban a P150 million ang binayad kay Toni?” The comedian-talent manager said that because of what Tita Jegs asked, there is a possibility that this statement will be attributed to him.
In the latter part of their “chikahan”, Tita Jegs asked Ogie if it is true that Tingog party-list paid a huge amount to Karla Estrada. “Ako na naman mako-quote,” the comedian-talent manager said.
Since Ogie did not answer this, Tita Jegs was the one who answered saying that according to the source Momshie Karla received a huge amount from the party-list regardless of whether she would win as a third nominee or not. When Mama Loi asked if this is true, Ogie jokingly said to Tita Jegs, “Ikaw na nga lang dito. Ang dami mong alam.”
