Video of Motorcycle Rider Being Run Over by Truck in Albay Elicits Comments Online
ROAD ACCIDENT – A motorcycle rider has passed away after he was run over by a dump truck in Daraga, Albay.
Nowadays, road accident has been one of the most common traffic problems not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world. It usually causes injuries and even death to the victims.
The Philippine government is already implementing stricter rules and regulations to prevent such incidents. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of hard-headed and reckless motorists violating the traffic policy.
On Monday (February 22, 2022), a motorcycle rider at the town of Daraga in Albay passed away after he was run over by a truck. The tragic accident happened along an intersection at Barangay Bañag.
According to the investigation of the authorities, the truck driver did noticed the motorist in front of him. The rider alleged overtake the truck at the right shoulder and sneakily passed along the intersection.
“‘Yung motor pagdating sa intersection, tumigil ng konti kasi may jeep na dumaan. Ang problema, ‘yung truck hindi siya napansin na andu’n siya sa unahan kasi ’yung motor nag-overtake sa right shoulder. Sumingit lang siya du’n sa intersection kaya hindi siya napansin ng driver ng truck,” police Senior Master Sergeant Junny Mabini said.
The CCTV footage has also captured the incident showing how the rider make “singit” and slowed down in front of the truck along the intersection.
The victim was a handicraft entrepreneur. The truck driver is currently detained at Daraga Municipal Police Station while waiting for the victim’s family to file formal complaints against the latter.
