Cristy Fermin Reacts James Reid Dad Slamming Fake News Against Son
The entertainment columnist reacts to the dad of James Reid after he clarified that his son is leaving the Philippines for good.
When it comes to addressing questions, comparisons between James Reid’s father and Alden Richards are unavoidable. Malcolm Reid’s attention was drawn to Cristy Fermin after she refuted a notion that her son James would remain in America.

According to Malcolm, James only visited his brother in Los Angeles. He went on to say that James is focused on his music responsibilities, putting to rest rumors that he relocated there permanently.
There had been no formal notification regarding James’ departure prior to this, leading some fans and internet users to believe that the actor-musician was leaving the nation permanently. On Malcolm’s Instagram on Saturday, Feb. 19, he addressed the claims by posting a photo of them together on the day of James’ departure.
“With James at [Ninoy Aquino International Airport] a few days ago. On his way to L.A. for recording sessions and to visit his brother Andrew,” he said. “That’s it. Anything else is basura (trash)… sorry to disappoint the fake newsmakers.”
There is nothing wrong with parents intervening in their children’s issues, according to the Hollywood journalist, but it should not be done frequently. Fathers who delve into their children’s issues, according to the columnist, might be considered stage fathers.
“Alam mo, okay lang naman yung mga tatay na nakikisawsaw sa isyu ng anak. Pero sana, hindi lagi-lagi kasi ‘pag ganun, stage father na ‘yon,” she said.
The author also addressed Alden’s father, Richard Faulkerson, who is said to be uninvolved whenever the Kapuso star is involved. Cristy stressed that Daddy Faulkerson only gives information about his son when requested.
“Never nakialam si Mr. Faulkerson sa kontrata ni Alden. Pinagkakatiwalaan niya ang mga taong nagpapatakbo ng kanyang karera at GMA-7. Hindi niya talaga pinakikialaman as in, yung mema lang,” she added.
When it was alleged that Alden had a kid with his old love partner, Maine Mendoza, Daddy Bae only broke the bogus news once. Rumors abound that Alden and Maine had a child together. When Cristy spoke out against the phony news, some AlDub supporters slandered her.
