Paolo Bediones Production Company Fails to Get P654-M DepEd Project

Paolo Bediones Production Company Disqualified in DepEd TV Project

The production company of Paolo Bediones has been disqualified from the TV project of the Department of Education (DepEd).

The business of Paolo Bediones was unable to get a PHP654 million-peso agreement with the Department of Education (DepEd). This is connected to Paolo’s production firm, Ei2 Tech, wanting to continue creating classes for DepEd TV.

The disqualification notice given by DepEd to Paolo of Ei2 Tech and his partner Cherie Cuela of Radenta Technologies Inc. was acquired by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal). It was dated February 10, 2022, and signed by DepEd Undersecretary Alain Pascua.

Paolo and Cuela’s firm was banned from bidding because it failed to pass the “technical component” of DepEd’s examination with a score of 64 percent. A 70% pass rate is required. The alleged fabrication of paperwork filed against Paolo by more than one hundred (100) Ei2 Tech contract manufacturing workers was also impacted.

This group of contract workers also filed a complaint with the DepEd regarding the purported delay in Ei2 Tech’s pay after they completed the requisite DepEd TV classes. According to reports, their unpaid compensation, as well as that of other production employees who worked on Phase 1 of the DepEd TV project, totaled PHP42 million.

This is based on a PEP.ph interview with Andres Bonifacio, one of the 42 former Ei2 Tech executive producers. According to reports, “one to eight months” have elapsed since the delay, and Paolo’s pay is insufficient to support them.

As a result, Andres’ group agreed to stop working in October 2022 until Paolo could no longer pay their salary. How many times did they express their dissatisfaction to Paolo, and how many times did Paolo promise to reimburse them, but the dialogue was never completed?

Furthermore, Andres’ group discovered Paolo’s claimed “fraud” in another bidding for the DepEd TV project’s “Phase 2.” This is the PHP654-M package for you. Andres’ group is also accused of forging their signatures on documents presented to the DepEd by Paolo’s firm.
