VP Aspirant Walden Bello Claimed that SMNI Presidential Debate is “Boring”

Vice Presidential aspirant Walden Bello criticized the presidential debate held by the Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI).

Bello slammed the format and questions used in SMNI’s presidential debate on Tuesday. Bello personally attended the debate at Okada Manila, along with Ka Leody de Guzman, who also took part in the debate.

‘Bello, on the other hand, didn’t hesitate to criticize the debate’s topics and format. According to him, the debate’s format is horrible, and the questions are uninteresting. He also noted that the meal I was eating appeared to have originated in the casino kitchen.

“The format for the SMNI Debate is terrible. The questions really have no spark. The atmosphere is becoming so soporific and to top it off, the food seems to have come from the casino kitchen,” Bello said in one of his Twitter posts.

Even commercials in the middle of a discussion caught the former legislator’s attention. He claims that rather than the argument, the partylist advertising are becoming the focus of attention.

“The partylist ads are taking up too much time and are becoming the center of attention rather than the debate. This is by far the most disorganized of the presidential events. And it’s boring as hell,” he added in another post.

Bello also despised the responses of presidential candidate Norberto Gonzales. “Norberto Gonzales is all over the place. I don’t understand why he’s even in this debate,” he said.

Only four of the ten presidential candidates showed up for the debate. Presidential hopefuls Vice President Leni Robredo, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Senator Manny Pacquaio, and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno all refused the SMNI presidential debate invitation due to personal reasons.

Those four presidential candidates chose not to attend the presidential debate on the TV network run by religious leader Apollo Quiboloy, who is now on the wanted list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Robredo, Moreno, Senators Pacquiao, and Lacson have released statements stating their reasons why they chose not to attend the presidential debate of SMNI.
