Philippines’ 3rd Batch of COVID Vaccine for Kids Arrives in NAIA
3RD BATCH OF COVID VACCINE FOR KIDS – The 3rd batch of the COVID-19 vax for children 5-11 years old arrived in the Philippines.
The Philippines is vaccinating more and more Filipinos for population protection against COVID-19. The virus which became a pandemic is affecting the lives of people across the globe for more than two (2) years now.
In PH, the national government continues to encourage the public to practice the minimum health protocols as the threats of the virus are still present. Several areas across the nation including the whole National Capital Region (NCR) are under Alert Level 2.
The PH government continues to encourage the people to get vaccinated as well. Despite the vaccination being open now for the adult population, some individuals are still hesitant to get their jabs.
The Department of Health (DOH) has also given its go signal to the vaccination of kids aged 5-11 against COVID-19. The roll-out of vaccines in Metro Manila started last February 7, 2022 and it started in other regions outside Metro Manila a week after.
Recently, the 3rd batch of COVID vaccine for kids aged 5-11 arrived in the Philippines. Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines formulated for children in the said age group arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from Cebu.
The 3rd batch of COVID vaccine for kids between 5-11 years old consists 780,000 doses. Based on the report, the vaccines were bought by the national government through World Bank’s financing. The country targets the vaccination of more than 15 million kids belonging to the aforementioned age group.
According to the National Vaccination Operations Center, over 150,000 kids in the said age group received their jabs during the pilot run of the pediatric vaccine drive and the first day of the roll-out of the vaccines across the nation.
