Marcos Jr Not Using Own Money on Campaign but Funded by Friends, Organizers
Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr said that he is not using his own money on the campaign because he is funded by friends and local organizers.
During his SMNI presidential debate on Tuesday night, Feb. 15, Marcos Jr. admitted he had no clue how much his campaign activities cost. It’s because he was largely supported and paid by his buddies.

Marcos Jr. said that he does not keep track of his campaign spending, despite the fact that his campaign is set to produce a Statement of Contribution and Expenditures (SOCE) after the campaign time is through. He claims that he is simply being invited to attend by local organizers and that he will not be spending any money.
“Kami ay iniimbita lamang ng mga organizers diyan… kaya sabi namin wag niyo pahabain. Wag niyong gagawin ito, ang gawin nalang natin magtanim tayo ng kahoy. Sinasabi nila, gusto pa rin namin mag-caravan. Hindi naman namin maipigil dahil walang hinihingi samin, kaya wala kaming gastos doon,” said Marcos while referring to his campaign sorties.
The former senator went on to say that the majority of his contributions were “in kind.” By God’s goodness, he still has a lot of friends who are prepared to give him their aircraft and helicopters.
Marcos Jr. has been on the road since the campaign began on February 8. Metro Manila’s multiple provinces and cities He even held a declaration rally in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, in the morning and another in Quezon City in the evening on the same day.
He would also go to other regions in Visayas and Mindanao before the campaign season to help victims of Typhoon “Odette.” Marcos Jr., the front-runner in recent presidential polls, claimed his chats with supporters were simply “gratis et amore,” or gratitude for gratitude’s sake.
When asked whether there was a final bet on the campaign’s budget, the only response was that he couldn’t since he wasn’t following because he didn’t perform an accounting before February 8. But, once the campaign is complete, he said, he’ll share his SOCE, which will show who the contributors are, how much they donated, and where their money went.
