Pinoy Actor Gerald Anderson Becomes Victim of Basag-Kotse” in Quezon City
BASAG KOTSE GANG – The Filipino actor Gerald Anderson has been victimized by “Basag-Kotse” modus in Quezon City.
The CCTV camera installed along Roces Avenue in Quezon City captured the two motorcycles at a parking space of an establishment. The riding-in-tandem broke the car window using a helmet and took the bag inside the vehicle.
The suspects were about to escape when they noticed that no one heard the noise and continue to steal the other items inside the SUV. The suspects escaped after the crime and another motorcycle rider who served as lookout followed them.
The National Bureau of Investigation-Special Action Unit (NBI SAU) investigated the incident and eventually located and identified the suspects. The authorities also found out that the vehicle was owned by Gerald Anderson.
“Sa aming pag-iimbestiga, naka-receive kami ng information na ‘yung mga motor na ginamit ay na-identify sa isang Tondo-based na basag kotse group. Nagkaroon kami ng surveillance and casing operations hanggang natunton namin ‘yung bahay ng isa sa mga napuntahan ng gamit ni Gerald Anderson,” NBI SAU Executive Officer Attorney Kristine dela Cruz said.
The NBI SAU identified the suspect as John Allen Dancel alias Elong who admitted of breaking the car window and stealing the actor’s valuables. The authorities recovered two expensive bags, two watches and gadgets.
However, the NBI personnel failed to recover the identification cards, passports and actor’s wallet. The suspect explained that he never intended to target the actor’s possessions.
Anderson has also expressed his gratitude towards the authorities for immediate action. The authorities were still hunting for other suspects.
“Gusto ko pong gamitin ang pagkakataon na ito para magpasalamat po sa NBI lalo na po Special Action Unit. Sobrang salamat po sa dedication, sa perseverance at patience para ho mahanap natin po ‘yung mga gumawa ng krimen na ito sa basag kotse na ginawa po sa aking sasakyan,” the actor said.
